• Long distance trails are networked all over the UK and are usually well signposted, reasonably well kept and expose you to some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

Whether you decide to do a day's walk, a weekend and join them all up or do the whole thing in one long hike, careful planning is needed.

This short and basic course is designed to help you choose your walk, plan how to get there and back, introduce you to planning your local public transport needs and help you to pick and carry the right amount of comfortable and useful equipment.

There is also a useful link to accommodation on the National Trail website, so you can either choose to camp, go bed and breakfast, self catering or go for the luxury of a hotel. Whatever accommodation you choose you should ensure you're close enough to get to the public transport link!

  • This Unit is about acquiring knowledge and understanding of software, systems development, data and applications, which are addressed by means of a three hour written examination.
